Arsenal have completed the long expected signing of Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh. Chamakh, who had made clear he was leaving the Ligue 1 giants upon the completion of his contract this year, picked The Gunners ahead of a whole host of suitors.

"Arsenal is a great club", commented Chamakh. "I will realise my dream. Their game fits me well and I have loved the Premier League since I was a child. I hope I will feel as good as I did at Bordeaux."

Chamakh has penned what is described as a long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium and will add much needed firepower to Arsenal’s attack. The 26-year-old managed 16 goals from 46 games for Bordeaux this season and, having never scored 20 goals in a season so far, will hope to do so with Arsenal.
