Having led Inter to a 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich last night to lift the Champions League, Jose Mourinho looks set to walk away from the Italians and sign with Real Madrid.
Questioned by German TV channel SAT1 after the final on whether he the Champions League would be his last game in charge of Inter, Mourinho replied: "Yes". Pressed on the point as to whether he was joining Real Madrid, Mourinho again replied "Yes".
To the Italian press Mourinho confirmed that he considered his work at Inter complete and whilst he has never grown fond of Serie A, he will continue to hold a special place for the San Siro side.
Now it only seems a question of when Mourinho's appointment as Real Madrid coach will be confirmed, with the Portuguese further expressing his excitement at the challenge of dethroning Barcelona in La Liga.
