Sunderland striker Darrent Bent is adamant that England have a decent chance to win the World Cup in South Africa, provided their players remain healthy. After a disappointing 2006 campaign in Germany, the Three Lions, who have looked a different side under Fabio Capello, are hoping to win the prestigious tournament for the first time since 1966.
“England have got a major chance,” Bent claimed on the club’s official website. “We have got some fantastic players and as long as they can stay fit and we can go to the competition with healthy bodies, there's no reason why we can't go all the way.”
Bent was selected in England’s provisional 30-man squad, after scoring an impressive 25 goals in his first season with Sunderland.
