The England faithful will be holding their breath in anticipation for the results on Gareth Barry’s tests, which is set to be revealed on Tuesday. Having suffered the injury so close to the end of the season, the former Aston Villa captain faces a race against time to be fit for his first ever World Cup.
The 29-year-old has decided to forego a visit to a specialist today, and instead focus on the rigorous tests England medical staff will be performing tomorrow, with the help of their Man City counterparts.
Barry has succeeded in becoming a regular under Fabio Capello, proving that he has blossomed to become a truly world-class talent. Time will only tell however, whether he will be part of the 23-man squad that will be announced on the first of June.
