Barcelona have claimed that disgruntled midfielder Yaya Toure could be allowed to leave the club, but only if the price tag they have placed on him is met, according to reports on Catalan daily Sport. The Ivorian international found appearances difficult to come by last season, despite being a regular in the teams record-breaking 2008/09 campaign.

The sudden lack of playing time has frustrated the 27-year-old and is understood to be looking for a change of environment, with a club that will fully appreciate his services. Although Josep Guardiola still feels the player has a vital role to play with Barca, he has conceded that an unhappy player would be detriment to his squads morale.

According to Toure’s agent, Chelsea are in prime position to sign the talented midfielder, but nothing definite has been agreed upon. Barca have stated, that the 27-year-old will only be allowed to leave if their valuation of €30M- 35M of the player is met by the interested party.
