England cruised to a 3-1 victory over Mexico last night, in their last home game before the World Cup in June. Tottenham players Ledley King and Peter Crouch were on the scoresheet, with Glen Johnson chipping in as well. Despite the impressive result, manager Fabio Capello feels his team need to develop further.
“We have time to recover a lot of the spirit of the team, of the group, and those qualities we have, the England boss said after the match at Wembley. When we play counter-attacking, we are really dangerous. But I don’t just want to play on the counter. I want more.”
England will now return to their training camp in Austria, where they will be gearing up to face Japan on Sunday, in the team’
s final friendly before the World Cup.
