Marseille star Stephane M'bia has emerged as a very serious transfer target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. The Cameroon star had stated previously that the Ligue 1 side would be a stepping stone to greater things and Arsenal would represent a big leap forward in his career.

Mbia was a key man in Marseille's march to the Ligue 1 title this season, with coach Didier Deschamps moving the midfielder back into a centre back position. Mbia was not happy with the move, yet performed spectacularly at the back, helping OM to see off all their rivals for the crown.

A price of around €18.5M has been mooted and Marseille will not let their 24-year-old star leave on the cheap. It is even possible a fine World Cup for Mbia could force the price higher.
