Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has responded to former chairman David Moores's concerns about the club by claiming himself and American partner George Gillett will leave the Anfield side in great shape.
Hicks told Sky Sports News: "I think £600-800M is a realistic value range, but the market is the market. We are more concerned about finding the right next owner, someone who can make the investment in the club, get the stadium built, and let Liverpool Football Club be the best club in the world."
The Texan also claimed that talk of reduced transfer spending during his reign is rubbish.
"There is so much misinformation about transfer spending – it has more than doubled under the ownership of George [Gillett] and myself over the past three years. We will make a considerable investment this summer, but it really is about getting the right players."
