Dynamo Kyiv's central defender Pape Diakhate has emerged as hot property for this summer's transfer window. The 25-year-old spent part of last season on loan to St. Etienne, and in France impressed to such a degree that he is on the shopping list of several clubs.
While Diakhate, who moved to the Ukraine from Nancy in 2007, would prefer to return to France, interested Ligue 1 sides could struggle to afford both the transfer fee and wages, according to L'Equipe. The Senegal defender is well paid at Dynamo Kyiv, and the transfer fee alone would total €8M. Given this, a more realistic destination is thought to be Spain.
Indeed, Sevilla are believed to have an interest in Diakhate and such a move could be acceptable to the defender, disappointing Lille, Rennes and Paris Saint-Germain amongst others.
