Arsenal have confirmed that Welsh youngster Aaron Ramsey has signed a new long-term contract with the Gunners. Despite being just a 17-year-old when he made the move to the North London club from Cardiff City in 2008, the midfield sensation displayed his immense talent and potential almost straight away.
In his second season with the club, Ramsey was featuring quite regularly, until he suffered a unfortunate break in his leg following a horrific challenge from Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross. The tackle ended the Welshman’s season, but is fully expected to be back fully fit by autumn of the next campaign.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Ramsey expressed his reasoning behind his decision to extend his contract, saying, "I’m very happy here at Arsenal, it’s a great club and I’ve learned a lot since I’ve been here. Every player wants to play in a team where they can play football and I feel that this is the way it should be played, so that’s one of the reasons I signed a new contract.”
