Barcelona standout Xavi has insisted that he is not in the least intimidated by the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid. On the contrary, the talented midfielder has claimed he is excited by the increased competition between the arch rivals, as it will bring out the best in his record-breaking side.

I’m glad and I really mean it,” Xavi said when asked about the arrival of the Portuguese manager at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sport. “It will be a motivation for us. It is clear that Real Madrid is trying to do everything possible to win titles. They have had two years of emptiness. If last year the big motivation was to overcome their signing of seven players, Barcelona will now be extra motivated by the signing of Mourinho.”

Barcelona will look to make it three La Liga titles in a row next season, but will have to do so facing a Real Madrid side that will have the highly successful Jose Mourinho calling the shots.
