Everton new-boy Jermaine Beckford can hardly control his enthusiasm for next season, as he attempts to prove his goal scoring pedigree on England’s highest level of competition. The former Leeds United standout, who scored 85 goals in 150 appearances for the side, was acquired on a four-year deal by the Merseyside club, and he is desperate to return the faith that was shown in him.

"I am excited by it. It’s going to be a test, I know that, but I am looking forward to it,” Beckford said on premierleague.com "I want to test myself at the highest level and luckily for me, David Moyes showed an interest in me, showed some faith in me and hopefully I can repay that.”

Everton fans will be delighted with Beckford’s enthusiasm, as the 26-year-old admits he wishes “the season was starting tomorrow.
