According to Catalan daily Sport, Real Madrid could be on the verge of another massive spending spree this summer. After acquiring the likes of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema for huge sums last year, the Spanish giants could be ready to splurge again with the arrival of Jose Mourinho.
Once again Manchester United will be the club that Real try to prize a player from, as they set their sights on bringing Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney together again at the Santiago Bernabeu. Signing the fiery English international will not come cheap though, and could cost Los Blancos more than the record-breaking €80M they shelled out for Portuguese player last year.
Although Mourinho would welcome the addition of Rooney to his squad, he has his sights set primarily on two of his former players, striker Diego Milito and defender Maicon. It is believed the former Inter Milan boss is prepared to line up a joint €70M bid for the pair.
