In an interview with Spanish paper AS, Barcelona’s Victor Valdes reveals his massive respect for fellow Spain team-mate, and Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas. Despite being domestic arch rivals for most of the season, the 28-year-old shot-stopper, who was a surprise inclusion in Spain’s 23-man squad, has nothing but praise for the La Roja captain.

When asked about his thoughts of Spain’s first-choice custodian, Valdes responsded, ”That anyone could question the quality of Casillas is something I cannot understand. He has had a magnificent career. He has won everything and he still has plenty more things to win. Casillas’ quality is not debatable.”

Valdes who has never been capped by Spain before, could get his first run out when his side face Korea Republic tomorrow night.
