Speculation linking Manchester City with Barcelona outcast Zlatan Ibrahimovic have intensified, with reports on Catalan daily Sport claiming manager Roberto Mancini is desperate to build his attack around the towering striker.

Despite Barca vice-president Rafael Yuste claiming the club would be very happy to keep the underperforming player at the club next season, it is believed that should his valuation of €50M be met, the Catalan club would be more than willing to sell the disgruntled attacker.

Mancini benefits from having experience working with Ibrahimovic in the past, as they were part of a successful Inter Milan team before the arrival of Jose Mourinho at the Italian club. It is reported that the Man City boss has remained in regular contact with the Swedish international, discussing just how important a role the striker would have at Eastlands.
