Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who is in Spain’s World Cup squad, admits he would relish the prospect of La Roja and England facing off in the final of the planet’s most prestigious tournament.
"I hope so – I’d sign up for it now,” Reina said on Liverpool’s official website when asked about the prospected match. “Of course it would be good for England and Spain, so let’s see if we can both reach the final."
Although unlikely to displace Iker Casillas in goal in the World Cup, the Reds’ first-choice custodian claims he will pushing as hard as he can to keep the Real Madrid standout on his toes. Having won the 2008 European Championships, Spain are considered on of the biggest favourites to win the tournament.
