Striker Steven Fletcher will continue competing in England’s top flight, after sealing a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers from newly-relegated Burnley. The 23-year-old scored 12 goals in his first season in the Premier League last year, proving he is fully capable of competing at the highest level.

Fletcher, despite being born in England, has chosen to play for Scotland, for whom he has made seven full caps, scoring once. Although the transfer fee for the striker was undisclosed, it has been revealed that the deal was worth enough to equal the club’s most expensive signing, Kevin Doyle.

We are delighted to complete the signing of Steven Fletcher,” Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said. "He was one of our main targets for the summer and – just like last season with Kevin Doyle – we were able to register our interest early and get the deal done."
