Cesc Fabregas has put thoughts of a possible move from Arsenal to Barcelona at the back of his mind, stating again that he wants to focus on the forthcoming World Cup with Spain.

Negotiations are continuing behind the scenes over Fabregas’s future, with Arsenal playing hardball and demanding Barcelona meet a price the Camp Nou club are unwilling to stretch to. The Spanish midfielder though is determined not to be distracted by the constant transfer talk.

"Playing in the World Cup is a dream I’ve always had", Fabregas told Marca, "it is something so big and so important that I have to not think of other things. I am calm."

The Madrid based daily reports that the Arsenal midfielder had planned to take a break from his World Cup preparation to travel to meet club boss Arsene Wenger in an attempt to push his proposed move to Barcelona forward. This had to be aborted though, as Wenger was in France attending to personal matters.

While Fabregas would like his future resolved soon so he can concentrate on the World Cup, it does not seem he will get his wish as the transfer talk rumbles on.
