Manchester City have been linked with Zlatan Ibrahimovic ever since the Swedish striker’s position at Barcelona became uncertain, and reports from the Spanish press now claim that the English outfit are ready to use the Catalan club’s former target Robinho, to leverage a possible deal.

The Brazilian star, who was sent out on loan in the January transfer window, has failed in his bid to force a move to boyhood club Santos, and Man City are keen to make full use of the disgruntled player.

Manager Roberto Mancini is believed to be intent on making Ibrahimovic the focal point of City’s attack next season, and should Barca agree to the deal, he would have hit two birds with one stone. The Italian tactician is unlikely to have Robinho in his plans for next season, and getting rid of the problematic Brazilian in such manner would be a very clever solution to a tricky situation.
