Spain supporters will be ecstatic by their side’s spectacular 6-0 dismantling of Poland last night, but will be concerned over a first half injury suffered by key player Andres Iniesta. The influential midfielder needed to be replaced by Barcelona team-mate Pedro in the 38th minute of the match.
Although Iniesta’s forced withdrawal did little to alter La Roja’s exquisite passing, movement and evident chemistry against Poland, it will certainly be a cause for concern for the side, who will want their squad at full strength at the World Cup.
It is understood that the Barcelona standout suffered only a minor muscle injury to his right thigh, and although it is recommended that caution be taken in fielding he player, Iniesta is not expected to be sidelined for too long.
