Now at the end of his four-year contract with Arsenal, William Gallas looks set to leave the Emirates as a possible deal to extend his stay seems unlikely to be reached. The Frenchman was a first-choice centre-back last year, but his future is looking ever more likely to be away from North London.
France Football claim Juventus are monitoring the situation very closely, and are very interested in bringing the former Chelsea player to Serie A. The 32-year-old has proven to be a solid defender when fit, and would certainly be a solid addition to any side he joins.
Although undoubtedly top quality on the pitch, Gallas’ occasional disciplinary problems, which cost him the Arsenal captaincy in the 2008/09 season, could be the reason behind manager Arsene Wenger’s hesitancy to extend the centre-back’s contract at the Emirates.
