Spain supporters collectively felt anxious when Andres Iniesta needed to be substituted in the first half of La Roja’s destruction of Poland two days ago. The Barcelona standout has revealed however, that the injury he picked up was nothing serious, and it was his decision to limit any more possible damage to his thigh.

I’m more aware of my body, and the best approach was to stop and not continue playing, even though they knew it (thigh) was far from seriously injured,” Iniesta explained to Catlan daily Sport.

Iniesta also expressed his belief that should Spain do their best to limit their mistakes, La Roja’s raft of spectacular players will have a very good chance of lifting the World Cup.
