Despite another season without any silverware, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is convinced his side have plenty to be proud about. The Gunners were widely tipped to fall out of the top four following the improvement of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, but the North London club proved their doubters wrong.

"The positive I will take first is from the fact that nobody expected us at all to be in the top four at the start of the season," said Wenger to the club’s official website. "The fact that we finished third in the Premier League and qualify directly for the Champions League is a positive overall.”

The French tactician admits his side conceded too many goals in the last campaign though, and is determined to improve on that next season.
