Despite still enjoying a good relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Inter president Massimo Moratti has ruled out the prospect of a return to the club by the Swedish striker. Ibrahimovic is available from Barcelona at the right price and still has a stellar reputation in Serie A.
"There is nothing to say in this regard", said Moratti when questioned on a move for Ibrahimovic. "I’d like to be able to say he’ll return because he’s a champion, but not at the moment, because our team is built in a different way."
The Inter president has left the way clear for Ibrahimovic’s two biggest suitors to slug it out for the striker, with AC Milan and Manchester City the most serious of the interested parties. While a move to Inter’s great rivals would of course not meet with approval from his old club, it seems Inter are not determined enough to prevent that move that they will bid themselves.
Manchester City meanwhile have also been linked with Inter striker Mario Balotelli, in addition to Ibrahimovic.
