Former Cameroon coach and African football loyalist Claude Le Roy has spoken of his belief that the continent’s sides can enjoy a good World Cup. Le Roy also pinpointed Cameroon as the ‘home’ nation with the best chance.

Asked which African side can go furthest, Le Roy told France Football: "Cameroon".

"I fully support six African teams at the World Cup"
, said the current Oman coach, "but hopefully Cameroon will go as far as possible. They have been very consistent in their preparation and are in a solid group."

Le Roy also identified Asamoah Gyan as the most dangerous African frontman, stating his belief that the Ghana striker "can hurt every defence at this World Cup."
