Newcastle United are interested in adding Yannick Djaló to their strikeforce according to reports coming from Portugal. The Sporting Lisbon forward has enjoyed a mixed time in the Portuguese league, although did hit a hat-trick earlier this season against Rio Ave.
Should the English club choose to make a bid for the 24-year-old it is believed they would not have to meet Djaló’s buyout clause of €20M and that an offer of €6M would be enough to persuade Sporting to sell.
Djaló has spent his entire career with Sporting, representing Portugal at Under-19, 20, 21 and 23 level, but has yet to make a breakthrough into the senior side. The quick striker could well feel the time has come to try his luck abroad.
