Portugal talisman Cristiano Ronaldo insists his team must not look further than their group despite reaching the semi-final back in Germany 2006. The Portuguese are in Group G, dubbed as the “group of death”, which includes quality sides Ivory Coast and Brazil.
“We must focus on the Ivory Coast and think about winning two games to reach the second round,” Ronaldo said to Catalan daily Sport. “The best way to tackle the World Cup is to go step by step, not thinking about the first day in the semi-final.”
Portugal face the Ivory Coast tomorrow, in what will be a massive match for both sides. The winner will undoubtedly gain an immense advantage to reach the second round, as neither side will fancy getting a win over heavyweights Brazil.
