Barcelona concluded their presidential election on Sunday, with Sandro Rosell winning with a massive margin, garnering 61% of the votes. The incoming president will be set to replace current head Joan Laporta, for whom he served as vice-president for two years.
Rosell became a fan favourite during his time as the president’s second in command, with his impressive capture of Ronaldinho and Deco an achievement that the supporters have clearly not forgotten. He resigned after two years as vice-president however, criticising Laporta for changing the model on which the club should be run.
Despite their differences though, 46-year-old Rosell has promised that he will always put the club before anything else. He also guaranteed that the transition from Laporta’s regime to his, would be made without fuss and delay.
