On the back of devastating injuries to centre-backs Rio Ferdinand and most recently, Ledley King, England have been forced to move their squad around much earlier than expected. Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole also picked up knocks in the Three Lions’ disappointing draw against the United States, causing even more anxiety among the team’s supporters.

With nothing but bad news surrounding the England camp in the last few days, it was undoubtedly a relief for manager Fabio Capello to see key members Rooney and Cole participate in full training again today.

The duo missed Monday’s session, along with King, who is in danger of missing out on the rest of the World Cup. With England still finding their flow in South Africa, they can ill afford to suffer any more injuries.
