According to Spanish paper Marca, Angel Di Maria’s long-running transfer saga has come to an end, with the promising winger set to officially join Real Madrid next week. Los Blancos are reportedly paying the Portuguese club €25M for the youngster, €15M less than the player’s buyout clause.

Benfica had stated earlier in the month that they had no intentions to sell the extremely talented 22-year-old to Real, but look to have finally given in to the Spanish club’s constant pressure.

Di Maria joins the Madrid club on the back of his best ever season, scoring ten goals in 45 appearances for Benfica. New Real manager Jose Mourinho has stressed the importance of signing a winger during the summer window, and his board has duly delivered.
