Former France manager Aime Jacquet, who led Les Bleus to a title-winning 1998 World Cup campaign has put the blame on current coach Raymond Domenech for guiding the side to a likely group stage exit. After reaching the final in Germany 2006, the nation is engulfed in disappointment and frustration at the dismal display of the football heavyweights.

"Raymond Domenech has his share of responsibility,” Jacquet said to France Football. “It was him who made the project, he set up everything he wanted, and quite simply, he failed, so that is it a failure,” the former triumphant coach concluded.

Jacquet refused to blame the French Football Federation for any wrongdoing, but reserved some criticism for the players, saying, “I also sincerely believe that many players also need to ask themselves some questions.”
