According to reports from Spanish paper AS, Real Madrid living legend Raul, who has suddenly found himself surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu, is mulling over two clubs to join in the summer. With his Los Blancos future looking more uncertain by the day, it is believed German club Schalke and MLS side New York Red Bulls are his two likely destinations at the moment.

The Bundesliga team are understood to be in the driving seat at the moment, as they provide a couple advantages for the ageing Spaniard. Firstly, Schalke will be competing in the Champions League next season, providing Raul with a chance to once again make his mark in the biggest of club tournaments.

Last season’s runners-up to Bayern Munich in the German league have also seen first-choice striker Kevin Kuryani leave for Russia, making it possible for Raul to stake his claim for a starting XI berth.
