Spain are well known for their free flowing attacking movement, and entertaining brand of football. Midfield maestro Xavi is accustomed to the same style at club Barcelona, and insists it is the only way he knows how to play. He also reveals that winning in such a manner is doubly satisfying not only for the fans, but for the team as well.
“I’ve always played attacking football: my footballing ideals are very clear and well-defined,” Xavi explains on Fifa.com. “I’ve grown up at Barcelona with that style and that’s the one I like. I think it’s good to win like that, by taking the initiative right from the off.”
Xavi and co will hope their unique attacking style of play will result in a win when they face Chile in their last group match, where they need a victory to ensure their passage into the next round.
