Despite the abundance of talent at the disposal of Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque, from midfield dynamos Xavi and Andres Iniesta, to attacking sensations Fernando Torres and David Villa, the tactician has picked youngster Sergio Busquets as the player he sees as irreplaceable in the side.

The Barcelona 21-year-old has been applied as an anchor to a free flowing La Roja midfield, proving immensely effective in breaking up play and keeping possession. While everyone looks to the entertainment value of the more well known stars of the Spain squad, Del Bosque has not overlooked the extreme importance of Busquets’ job in the team, and the ease at which he does it.

The 59-year-old Spanish tactician believes, with the ability the youngster has shown, the defensive midfield sensation should easily deserve a place in the World XI.
