According to reports from L’Equipe, Juventus target William Gallas has refused a move to be Fabio Cannavaro’s replacement at the Turin club. The Frenchman is currently at the end of his four-year contract with Arsenal, but has yet to have his deal renewed. Despite the uncertainty regarding his future with the Gunners, the defender is opposed to a move to Serie A.
The 33-year-old was reportedly being offered a two-year contract by Juventus, with terms that would see Gallas making an estimated total of €2M per season – far below his current wages at the Emirates. It is understood that the defender is currently being paid extravagantly, at €94,000 a week.
Although the offer of the Turin club is significantly lower than his present deal, the 33-year-old Gallas would be receiving even less from other teams, Panathinkaikos and Paris-Saint Germain, who are also understood to be interested in his services.
