Ligue 1 side Auxerre have completed the signing of Anthony Le Tallec from rivals Le Mans for a fee of €3M. The forward, still just 25 years old, has enjoyed a varied career with spells at Liverpool, Saint Etienne, Sunderland and Sochaux amongst others.

Once tipped as a future world star, Le Tallec has failed to live up to that billing, but has still grown to become a very dependable Ligue 1 performer.

Auxerre finished third in the French league last season, meaning that Le Tallec can look forward to enjoying Champions League football at the Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps.
