Holland fans listened with concern to the news that midfield wizard Wesley Sneijder had been forced to sit out training on Saturday due to a calf complaint. The Inter midfielder watched from the sidelines as the Dutch side were put through their paces ahead of their crucial last 16 World Cup clash with Slovakia on Monday.
The Dutch moved quickly though to reassure their fans that Sneijder is not, despite missing the session, a doubt for the meeting with the Slovaks.
"It was a long and difficult season", Sneijder told Dutch TV channel NOS. "I played a lot which can cause muscle fatigue."
Holland will be supremely confident of defeating Slovakia, but the question troubling the Dutch is whether the Oranje can do so with a dash of swagger or whether the oft seen dull football they have produced so far will continue.
