Manchester City have snapped up Spain winger David Silva from Valencia, beating a whole host of European giants to his signature. While the exact fee the Premier League club have paid for Silva is unknown – a fee of at least €25M had been mooted – he has agreed a five-year deal which will be signed when his involvement in the World Cup ends.
"The time is right for me to seek a new challenge" Silva told Man City’s official site. "I am thrilled about playing in England with Manchester City"
For Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini the signing of Silva is a massive coup and the 24-year-old is rated as one of the finest wingers in the game. Such a signing is a huge statement of Man City’s intent for next season.
