As the race to succeed Roy Hodgson as Fulham manager gets underway several reports have suggested Gianfranco Zola is at the head of the queue. The little Italian, who was most recently in charge of West Ham United, is keen to return to management and would welcome the opportunity to remain in the English Premier League.
Zola is thought to have support within the boardroom at Craven Cottage with a feeling that the former Chelsea star was not given every chance to succeed at Upton Park.
The Italian coach will battle Sven-Goran Eriksson and Alan Curbishley for the chance to inherit what has been a fine squad left behind by Hodgson.
