Lyon defender Jean-Alain Boumsong could head over the border from France into Germany according to L’Equipe. The French centre back has been asked to find a new club by Lyon and Bundesliga side Hamburg have emerged as the front runners for his signature.
Having already lost Germany international Jerome Boateng to Manchester City in this transfer window, Hamburg are keen to have some good news to give to their supporters. Boumsong, an experienced head at 30 years old, has played for Juventus and Newcastle United in recent years and his addition to the Hamburg squad would surely be welcome.
There has yet to be any mention of a fee or length of deal for the centre back.
