In a dramatic U-turn Cameroon could move to reappoint Paul Le Guen as their national team boss. The Frenchman, whose contract was not renewed after a poor World Cup campaign, has already been linked to a number of other jobs, including that of Australia coach.

However, the president of Cameroon’s FA is, according to L’Equipe, keen to bring Le Guen back to coach the African giants. Prepared to put aside a World Cup that saw the country fail to make it out of their group, the president is convinced that the only way to achieve success is to appoint a coach now who is in charge right through to the 2014 tournament.

Whether Le Guen would be willing to return to coach Cameroon is open to question, but the Frenchman remains highly rated and the blame for the Indomitable Lions poor performance has not fallen on him.
