Greek champions Panathinaikos are interested in Lyon’s centre back Jean-Alain Boumsong according to reports from L’Equipe. Boumsong is surplus to requirements at the French club and keen to move to secure more regular first team football. He was also the subject of interest from Hamburg recently.
Panathinaikos have already added one Lyon player to their ranks in the shape of Sidney Govou and are hopeful of persuading Boumsong to swap France for Greece. The Greens can also offer Champions League football next season.
Boumsong could also link up with William Gallas, who Panathinaikos are still tracking, to form a French rock at the back of the Greeks’ defence. The centre back is also wanted by Bursaspor in addition to Hamburg.
