Speculation linking Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson with a raid on former club Fulham for Brede Hangeland is growing. Hodgson is known to be a huge fan of the Norwegian star and is thought to want him at Anfield.

Hangeland would welcome a move to a bigger club, but Fulham will not want to lose their defensive rock. It is also unlikely that any decision over Hangeland’s future would be made until the London club appoint a new permanent manager.

Having coached Hangeland at Viking and Fulham, Hodgson knows all about his qualities, but could yet face opposition from Arsenal should the Craven Cottage side signal a willingness to sell.
