Olympiacos are getting serious with their interest in AC Milan midfield general Gennaro Gattuso. The Greek club’s wealthy owner Vangelis Marinakis met Gattuso’s agent yesterday according to Calcio Mercato, and the prospect of a transfer moved a little closer.
Gattuso is still keen to gain assurances that he will enjoy regular first team football next season from new Milan coach Massimilano Allegri, and if the midfielder does not believe his playing time will be increased them a move to Athens is a real possibility.
The midfielder is still just 32 and should have a few more years left at the top level yet.
