Real Madrid stalwart Guti is edging closer to joining up with old coach Bernd Schuster at Besiktas. The midfielder has revealed that he has received a very tempting proposal from the Turkish club and the chances are he will begin next season in Istanbul.

However, Guti told Marca that he is still keen to sit down and talk to new coach Jose Mourinho, possibly leaving the door slightly ajar for a dramatic stay at the Bernebau – though this still remains unlikely.

"I’m still a Real Madrid player", said Guti. "It’s clear that I have a very interesting offer from Besiktas, and I want to join this club because Bernd Schuster is the coach. But for now nothing has happened. I will try to discuss this with the club when I return to training on 25th July."
