Inter are already considering life without striker Mario Balotelli, according to Tutto Mercato. The striker is expected to complete a move to Manchester City when a few details have been ironed out, and the deal is apparently so close that the European Champions have begun to draw up a list of names to replace him.

Three names under consideration are Mesut Ozil, Dirk Kuyt and Lukas Podolski, with the latter German believed to be the frontrunner.

Inter were impressed with Podolski’s showing at the World Cup for Germany and believe they could snatch the striker from 1.FC Koln for a fee of around €12M. This would undoubtedly make Podolski the cheapest of the three options being considered and the former Bayern Munich man would represent a quality replacement for Balotelli.

All the signs are that Podolski would welcome a move to the San Siro and Inter can be expected to move once Balotelli has finally ended his spell with the Nerazzurri.
