Turkish giants Fenerbahce have upped their bid for Rennes striker Asamoah Gyan to a substantial €16M from their first bid of €12M. The Ligue 1 side are now seriously contemplating selling Ghana’s World Cup star.
According to Le Parisien, Fenerbahce officials have been in France to tempt Rennes into parting with the 24-year-old forward. Gyan, a colourful character at the World Cup, is hot property, with several other European sides watching developments closely. The Super Lig giants however, are the only club to make a firm bid.
Selling Gyan has caused Rennes to consider entering the race to sign Nice striker Loic Remy as a replacement. The €16M received would surely be enough for Nice and could help send Remy to Rennes.
