Reports suggest that Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson will seal a deal for Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen by this Monday.
The Anfield club are expected to push on with the move despite being on the verge of a takeover which would undoubtedly provide Hodgson with increased transfer funds.
Poulsen’s agent Jorn Bonnesen told Ekstra Bladet that he expects everything to be agreed by Monday.
"Poulsen is a player that Roy Hodgson likes and he expects him to play defensive midfield to recover possession", said Bonnesen.
"The deal will be done by Monday."
The Danish international is expected to cost Liverpool between £4M and £5M and Poulsen’s arrival will only add to the feeling on Merseyside that Javier Mascherano’s exit is imminent. That deal though depends on Inter using money from the sale of Mario Balotelli to Manchester City and that has hit a problem owing to the striker’s wage demands.
