Liverpool have announced that they have agreed a fee with Middlesbrough for goalkeeper Brad Jones. The Reds will pay the Championship side £2.3M for the 28-year-old’s services and Jones has agreed terms on a three-year deal at Anfield the club announced on their official website.

The arrival of the Australia international will pave the way for Brazilian Diego Cavalieri to move from the club in search of more first team football, with Italian side Cesena leading the chase.

Jones is not expected to see much game time at Anfield, due to the dominance of Pepe Reina between the sticks, but Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson was keen to have the shot stopper as backup.
