Brazilian midfielder Diego looks set to stay with Juventus this season as the cub have not received a suitable offer. Old Lady coach Luigi Delneri confirmed yesterday that he was happy for the former Werder Bremen star to remain and dismissed speculation over his exit.

Diego has been tracked closely by Wolfsburg, while Werder Bremen too entertained hopes of bringing the midfielder home until news of his pay-packet in Turin filter back to Germany.

"Diego has proven to still be with us and we are happy" said Delneri, "the voices of the transfer market do not affect us."

Rumour has it that Wolfsburg were prepared to pay a fee of €18M for the Brazilian, but those within the corridors of power at Juventus thought this figure too little. With nothing better on the horizon it appears they are willing to give Diego a chance to relaunch his Serie A career.
